Summerfest

Review - Sierra Nevada's Summer Fest

"Our Summerfest is a refreshing, pilsner-style lager. Its incredible smoothness comes from an extra-long lagering period. Lighter in body than our ales but just as complex in character, Summerfest quenches your thirst with big aroma and a tangy hop bite." --Sierra Nevada

One of four summer beer reviews we did this evening, this one scored the highest, and had the strongest aroma. It pours a cloudy white color, settling a light yellow with a large, fizzy white head. Virtually no lacing with a mostly diminishing head. Body is clear. Aroma is of moderate strength bread and cookie malts. Initial taste is a light sweet, curbing to a moderately bitter finish with a long duration. Light body, we're left with a chalky finish with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Sean enjoyed this one.
