Shipyard Blue Fin Stout

Review - Shipyard Brewing Company's Blue Fin Stout

"A classic Irish stout with a deep, almost black body and a creamy white head that is always pleasing to drink. Blue Fin Stout is brewed and bottles according to tradition with only premium, high quality ingredients." -- Shipyard Brewing Company

Pours a dark brown to obsidian black color with a light brown, fizzy, small head with decent retention. Thin, wispy lacing on the edges. Aroma is of roasted malts with a slight burnt characteristic, along with some bitter chocolate that is carried by a creamy, buttery nose. Initial taste is loaded with super roasted malts that give off a fairly bitter taste with a lot of coffee undertones, building to a slightly sweet finish that\'s still chock full of roasted malt character. Medium bodied, it has a silky-smooth creamy mouthfeel with very roasted maltiness.

Very tasty stout, with great balance and awesome creaminess.
