Review - Rock Art Brewery's The Vermonster

"Ridge Runner's big brother. Watch out. 100 IBU." -- Rock Art Brewery

Pours a light amber color producing a massive off-white head in the hurricane glasses we pour into. Settles a much darker amber color with a significant amount of carbonation which is holding up the head nicely, which is now frothy in consistency. As the head fades a bit, some wispy rings of lacing are left giving a nice appearance to the beer. Aroma is sweet and sugary like maple syrup with a kick, along with some cookie malts and some almost not detectable alcohol as it\'s very balanced. Initial taste is slightly sweet, moving to an acidic finish with some citrus bitterness. Light to medium bodied, there\'s some carbonation with an oily texture. Not very balanced at all, with heavy hits of alcohol and acidity without much malt balance.
