Review - Shipyard Brewing Company's Brown Ale
"A malty, classic English-style brown ale with a smooth texture and mellowness, a sweet finish and a hint of chocolate and maple syrup." -- Shipyard Brewing Company
Pours a dark amber color with a small, white fizzy head that quickly diminishes, although it does leave a nice ring of lacing behind. Clear body which is mostly still. The aroma is sweet, with perhaps a hint of cinnamon and sweet, light bread malts. The taste is malty and chewy, with a nice sweetness to it up front, moving to a light bitter at the finish. Light to medium bodied, it has a creamy texture that leaves a slightly dry mouthfeel. Soft carbonation.
