Framboise

Review - Harpoon Brewery's 100 Barrel Encore Series: Framboise

"Scott Shirley originally brewed this beer in 2005. Framboise, French for 'raspberry,' is a Belgian-style fruit lambic made with wheat malt and real raspberries. Highly carbonated, it produces a wonderfully pink, lacey head. The burgundy color foretells of intense raspberry aromas. This beer enjoys a nice, sweet start, ending with a tart and acidic finish that is light and refreshing." -- Harpoon Brewery

For the second time around, Ian and I reviewed the Framboise in the Harpoon 100 Barrel Encore series. (11). The red watery body was accompanied by the distinct pink head. This was the most aromatic selection in this review. The raspberry sent was overpowering, but not unwelcoming. This offering was the inspiration for the Raspberry UFO. As you would expect, the scored turned out to be the same as our initial review... (And we weren't aware of the initial score when making this decision.)
