Review - Middle Ages Brewing Company's (X) 10th Anniversary Ale

"Brewed in the style of an American Double IPA in celebration of our 10th anniversary. This beer is golden in color, has medium to full body, intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. Ten additions of American hops are made throughout the brewing process." -- Middle Ages Brewing Company

This celebratory ale pours a cloudy, dark yellow color, settling a medium amber/orange hue with a large, frothy white head. Hazy body with active carbonation. Good, clingy lacing left behind by the mostly diminishing head. Aroma is of heavy hops, loaded with citrusy orange and grapefruit notes, much like a grapefruit with sugar sprinkled on top. Initial taste is heavily sweet, switching to a moderately bitter finish with an alcohol overtone with a long duration. Medium in body, it has a very dry texture with an alcohol feel. Not a clean finish due to its sticky mouthfeel.
