Review - Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen
(brewed and sold under license by Redhook Brewery)"Americas original Hefeweizen. A golden unfiltered wheat beer that is truly cloudy and clearly superb. Winner of the 1998 Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival. Now brewed and sold by Redhook Brewery, Portsmouth NH." -- Redhook Brewery
The Hefe' has a sweet scent, and pours very cloudy with a beautiful golden color. The beer is refreshing with a light aroma and a light taste. There is a hint of lemon in the beer, although it finishes with a very sweet aftertaste.

The Widmer Hefe' pours a hazy medium yellow color with a white, fizzy head. Fair lacing. Aromas are of banana and citrus (grapefruit). Initial taste is moderately acidic, with a light bitter finish. Watery and light on the mouth, there is a light astringent feel and soft carbonation.
