Review - Mercury Brewing's Z Street IPA
"This golden amber I.P.A. has a thick creamy head and a citrusy hop aroma. The flavors of whole leaf Cascade, Centennial, and Kent Goldings hops make for a complex hop character while a toasty malt balances the finish." -- Mercury Brewing
The Z Street IPA pours a hazy, light amber color with a small, fizzy, off-white head with decent retention as the rings of lacing grasp to the glass. There are small particles in the body. Aroma gives off a moderate flowery hop scent, but grapefruit citrus notes dominate the nose. Initial taste is moderately bitter, tasting of the sharp hops we picked up in the aroma, maintaining a decent amount of bitterness through the finish as it has fair duration. Light to medium body on the palate with an up front oily texture and active carbonation that carries the bitterness over the tongue and has a slightly dry finish.
