Octoberfest

Review - The Matt Brewing Company's Saranac Octoberfest

"Saranac Octoberfest is a rich flavorful lager. We use imported two-row and crystal malt and balance it with the pleasant bitterness of Saaz and Tettang hops." -- The Matt Brewing Company

This Octoberfest pours a medium to dark amber color with an average, frothy light-brown head. Fair lacing with a fully diminishig head. Hazy body. Aroma is of moderate strength malts with notes of bread, as well as doughy yeast. Initial taste is lightly bitter, masked by heavy carbonation, but the finish moves to a moderate bitter with average duration. Light and watery on the mouth, there is active carbonation with a sharp grassy hop finish.
