Review - Magic Hat Brewing Company's Fat Angel
"Fat Angel brings divergent tastes together to create a satisfyingly smooth harmony. Dry hopped for eminent drinkability. This beer offers a complex palate that balances the rich pleasures of malt with the crips, refreshing flavor of hops. Fat Angel is the ale of universal reconciliation, brewed in an ambiguous world for those seeking answers in the age of confusion." -- Magic Hat
Fat Angel is a very good tap beer, so we were curious to see how it would hold up in the bottle. Result? Yea, we like it from the tap. Aromas are of grain malts and orange and lemony hops, with a moderate yeast scent. It pours an amber color with a murky appearance, with a small, fizzy dark brown head. Initial flavor is lightly sweet, finishing moderately acidic and bitter. Light to medium on the mouth, it is both dry and oily, although the dry doesn't hit until after a little while. Fizzy carbonation and light alcoholic tinge. A malty beer.
