PORTSMOUTH, NH, Nov 30, 2009 –On December 11, 2009, Redhook Ale Brewery will tap and serve their 2009 Fall Limited Release brew, Treblehook Barleywine for one day only at the Portsmouth, NH facility. This award-winning beer will be available in Redhook’s Cataqua Pub all day long, with a special Brewer’s toast at 5:30pm, music by EJ & Crazy Maggy at 7:30pm and food pairings to bring out the best in each glass. Special prizes will also be given out throughout the evening.

Treblehook, one of two “One Time Only” Limited Release beers that Redhook puts out each year, first hit the shelves in 2008 and won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival. 2009 brought a silver medal at the GABF, and new 22oz packaging. Brewed in honor of the long standing British tradition of Barleywines, Redhook produced a version with a distinctly American twist as a celebration of brewing. “The brewing process is extremely labor intensive and takes 6 months longer to make than any of our other brews. The outcome is a celebration of the full symphony of malt and hop flavors. It is hand-made to salute the extremes of brewing,” says Doug MacNair, Production Manager for the facility. “Our brewers created it here last year as a way to push their creative limits and the popularity of the results spoke for itself. That success led to the national distribution we have this year.”

Treblehook is vigorously hopped which builds on the traditional massive aromatic malt notes. Its double mashing process helps make the flavors smooth and complex. Because of its limited quantities, Redhook wants to spotlight the Treblehook experience by inviting Seacoast residents and visitors to enjoy this special beer at a celebratory event. Available all day for one day only – December 11th – at Redhook Ale Brewery, 35 Corporate Drive. For more information, please visit the website www.redhook.com.
