Cape Ann Brewing Company – Beer Release Info, Homebrewing night, Raw Bar Thursdays and more…

There are a TON of things going on at the Cape Ann Brewing Company. Along with their release of the infamous seasonal Pumpkin Stout (in my top 5 overall favorite list), the brewery has an open home brewing night and the Thursday night raw bar. Here’s all of the details of what’s going on:

Pumpkin Stout Released on 8-14-09

It’s fall again(at least as far as Craft beers are concerned) so go check out your local package stores and get a case or two or three. If your store doesn’t have it cause a scene, scream at the top of your lungs right in the face of the clerk and voice your displeasure with such a colossal oversight. That might be a bit of an over-reaction but I assure you, this is what needs to be done. Cheers!

The fisherman’s pumpkin Stout pours a medium brown color, settles a dark brown color, covered in a fizzy, light brown, small head that quickly diminishes. Thin lacing with very little clinging ability. The aroma is very enticing with a sweet chocolate scent, paired with gentle pumpkin notes. Initial taste is slightly sweet, moving to a moderately bitter finish. Chocolate dominates the taste, covering up most of all of the pumpkin. Medium bodied, the mouthfeel fantastic with a velvety coating. A slightly dry texture, and soft carbonation.

Return of the Dunkelweiss – Released on 8-13-09

We welcome the return of the Dunkelweiss to the tap selection. Meaning Dark Wheat, the Dunkel has similar flavors to the Bavarian Wheat with some roasted, chocolate notes. Very Yummy. If
you haven’t had it yet come on down and try it out.

Raw Bar Thursdays:

Fisherman’s Raw bar night occurs every Thursday. So come on down and bring your appetites for all kinds of raw shellfish. Also we can welcome back the Ale and the IPA so for those of you who have missed your old friends come say hello.

Home Brewing Mondays:
Every Monday Night, TJ and friends will be creating small homebrew batches. Stop by the brewery every Monday Night to learn more about home brewing and the craft of making beer. ‏ See how the process works on the small scale and then see the fruits of your labor come to fruition a few weeks later when this trial beer is available on tap at the pub.

Cape Ann Brewing Hop Harvest‏

Mark your calendars folks. On September 8th we’ll be having our first Annual Cape Ann Brewing Hop Harvest. Come on down to the Brewery sample our Fresh Hop IPA while we put you to work harvest our locally grown hops from L’Abbe Lindquist Farms. We’ll then use those hops in a small homebrew batch. Should be a good time and we hope to see you all. The event starts at 5pm and runs til 9pm.

Beers on Tap

If this wasn’t enough to convince you to take a trip to Gloucester, Ma – Here’s the list of beers that on tap (as of 8-19-09)
