Review - Founders Brewing Company's Double Trouble
"" --Founders Brewing Company
Pours a light yellow color with a cloudy burst into the glass that generates a healthy one-finger head with excellent retention. Very thin lacing and a mostly diminishing head. The aroma is loaded with a moderate presence of floral, citrusy grapefruit hops and some soapy notes. Initial taste is chock full of assertive hop character giving a bitter sweetness up front that gives way to a harsh bitter finish. Medium bodied, it has soft carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel and lots of citrus. The mouth is left moderately dry and mouth puckering for a long duration.
The amazing label of the double trouble sets the stage and proves to you how much time and effort that Founders puts in to produce and market this beer. When you move the bottle, it changes from an old woman to an old man. It is a very creative idea. The beer doesn\'t let you down - its delicious and very drinkable. Very different than the 90-minute IPA...not as sweet.
