Review - Boston Beer Company's Sam Adams Longshot: Grape Pale Ale

"Created by Samuel Adams Employee Lili Hess, Hawaii This is a very creative spin on a pale ale. As Lili describes it, "It's like you are drinking a pale ale after biting into a fresh green seedless grape." This delicate brew is light-bodied with unique sweet, yet dry flavors from the grapes. What a combination..." -- Boston Beer Company

Pours a medium amber color that generates a fizzy to frothy off-white head with light retention. Settles out a clear light amber color, and the head has almost diminished down to nothing with some thin lacing. Aroma is mostly non-distinct with some gentle bread malts and some soft sugary sweet notes, but no noticeable grape presence. Initial taste is slightly tart and shifts to a slightly less bitter finish with a long duration. Gum-smacking, super dry texture with lively carbonation in the watery, medium body. Undetectable grape throughout.
