I am enjoying one as I type. I saw it at the grocery store and decided to give it a whirl. I usually do not like to "fruit the beer" as it were, but this is nice. The taste is smooth with a hint of orange, and the blackberry aftertaste is subtle and not overwhelming. Now, this is definitely a "treat" beer and not one I could consume regularly. It does, however, lend itself to be a "beer between beers". All in all, very enjoyable.

Brewing green can just make good business sense. Long Trail's heat recovery system is green and saves that company lots of cash in fuel costs. Their 12-pack box redesign is great for the environment AND saves them huge of material costs.

21st Centry Cave Painter,

Thank you for sharing your comments.

Most of the craft beers in a can have been tasty. Maybe someday, we can get a 30 rack of dales pale ale. That would be a very amazing day.

Interesting point, but this could be said about many breweries..

Is Coors still brewed in the rockies? Nope.
Is Sam Adams brewed in Boston? Nope.

It's a catch 22. If you change the name of your brewery, you lose brand recognition. If you don't change, consumers might be confused about your product.

I think the brand recognition is more important, so I agree with their decision to keep the name the same.

Lew Bryson brought up an interesting point on his blog - How can Iron City Brewery still market themselves as such if they are moving out of Iron City?

I was impressed with Blue Hills' Wamputuk Wheat - great traditional hefeweizen!

And I love all the craft beer coming out in cans. It really challenges the notion of how craft brewers can serve or deliver their product.

Good beer, but you paying more for a 9 pack of 16 oz beers, than you would for a 12 pack of 12 oz.

what's the difference? Just the Can
12oz x 12 beers = 144oz
16oz x 09 beers = 144oz
