2Beerguys - Craft Beer Education Series
On Thursday, Ian and I hosted our 5th Craft beer Education class at Leary’s Fine wine and Liquors - Newburyport, Ma. It was a great success.
It was a pseudo Best in Store smörgåsbord of beer, featuring beers from the light to the dark end of the style spectrum. The class focused [...]
What’s $1 worth these days?
I seriously wavered back and forth about writing on this topic, but I have finally decided to take the plunge and ask the question that some of you might already be thinking.
Is Beer Advocate experiencing financial difficulty?
I ask this question respectively and out of curiosity. I understand their niche and the desire to be an [...]

Balance, but not in the OM sense of the word
So I’m sitting here drinking a Smuttynose IPA, watching the Celtics, and it got me thinking about balance. The C’s are down 32-13 right now, mostly because they’re not playing balanced basketball. But balance play an equally important part in a successful beer. According to our friend Ignace, the measure of a quality beer lies [...]

Reviews 04-16-08: Smutty Baltic Porter & Lagunitas Shut-Down Ale
It has been way too long since our last review. Last Wednesday, Ian and I decided to get back into action with a quick 2 beer review.
We decided on the Smuttynose Baltic Porter and the Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale. Both were enjoyed from 22 oz bottles.

Hi Sean
Thanks for answering my questions! I didn’t realize how close you guys were! Stone is awesome, I was out there in February and loved it. My favorite beer at the brewery was actually a Ballast Point beer called Victory At Sea. It was an unbelievable Imperial Stout.
