“We’re thrilled to have our Rope Swing Summer Pilsner recognized by this award,” said Greg Deuhs, Redhook’s lead brewmaster. “Redhook takes pride in brewing a variety of high quality craft beers and it’s great to see the work of our team acknowledged amidst national competition.”

Redhook Ale Brewery’s Backyard Festival Goes Green and Blues

Saturday, July 24

Portsmouth, N.H. – Tickets for Redhook Ale Brewery’s 14th annual RedhookFest are on sale now. For 13 consecutive years, Redhook Ale Brewery’s RedhookFest has attracted thousands of craft beer and music lovers from across New England for a summertime bash in the brewery’s backyard. This year, the event, complete with music, food, and beer, will feature rock/jam music legend Blues Traveler as the headline act. The platinum-selling, Grammy winning band, led by harmonica wielding front man, John Popper, is known for spontaneous spirit and electric energy that is sure to leave fans thirsty for more.

RedhookFest is a family-friendly festival including a vendor village complete with games, activities, and prizes from local cultural and adventure-based businesses. Additionally, for the first time in event history, RedhookFest is going green. The nutrient-rich compost will then be used to grow hop plants and flowers in the brewery’s beer garden.

Woodinville, Wash. – May 14, 2010 – In response to consumer demand, Redhook Ale Brewery (NASDAQ: HOOK) is bringing back Redhook Blonde. The golden ale, which was taken out of production in early 2009, returned to draught in the Western U.S. in April, and hits grocery store shelves in 12 ounce bottles and on draught nationwide this month. Redhook Blonde sports a bold new look, yet is made using the same great recipe that built its reputation.
“Redhook Blonde is a smooth, flavorful beer,” said Greg Deuhs, Redhook brewmaster. “It has a soft malt character and medium hop profile, making it a very good session beer. Redhook Blonde is a perfect beer to have while spending an afternoon outdoors at a picnic or on a rainy day at the pub for happy hour.”
Redhook Blonde combines the best attributes of a flavorful golden ale with the refreshing qualities of a lager. The ale is brewed with three different malts and two hop varietals. Additionally, lightly roasted barley and a touch of wheat give Redhook Blonde a flavor profile anticipated to appeal to a wide range of beer drinkers.
Redhook Blonde pairs well with medium flavored foods such as fish, nachos or salad. It has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 5.3 percent and 24 international bittering units (IBUs). The golden ale will retail for approximately $7.99 – $8.99 per six-pack.
American Chinook, Cascade and Centennial hops are used 7 different times in the brewing process (Mash hop, First Wort Hop, 3 times in Kettle, Whirlpool Hop, Dry Hop) to create bold citrus and spicy, piney hop flavors. It is dry hopped with Centennial hops to give it a wonderful floral and citrus hop aroma. This is an assertive brew! Boldly balanced with deep malt flavor and prominent hop character.”

PORTSMOUTH, NH, January 4, 2010 — On January 11, Redhook Ale Brewery will initiate its 3rd Annual Food Drive at the Cataqua Pub in the brewery. Redhook will be collecting non-perishable foodstuffs for local food pantries through February 11, 2010.

Three years ago, the brewery began collecting food in order to help stock shelves before the holidays. While demand continues year-round, donations seem to dip after the holidays, so this year, they have decided to host the food drive post-holidays.

“The local community is extremely generous with their help towards Seacoast area food pantries, especially around the holiday season. In planning this year’s food drive, we thought that helping fill the shelves after the holidays would be the best way we could help in our own backyard and continue the holiday spirit,” said Amanda Telford, General Manager of the brewery. “Our customers have responded to our call for non-perishable food items so well in the past, we’re looking forward to seeing what they come through with this year.”

Redhook invites customers to bring in at least 2 non-perishable food items when they visit the pub. In thanks, Redhook will provide participants with special pricing on their beverage of choice. In past years, the month-long drive has contributed over 350 pounds to Seacoast area food pantries and Redhook hopes to surpass that weight in 2010.

“Treblehook Day” slated for December 11th at Redhook.

PORTSMOUTH, NH, Nov 30, 2009 –On December 11, 2009, Redhook Ale Brewery will tap and serve their 2009 Fall Limited Release brew, Treblehook Barleywine for one day only at the Portsmouth, NH facility. This award-winning beer will be available in Redhook’s Cataqua Pub all day long, with a special Brewer’s toast at 5:30pm, music by EJ & Crazy Maggy at 7:30pm and food pairings to bring out the best in each glass. Special prizes will also be given out throughout the evening.

Treblehook, one of two “One Time Only” Limited Release beers that Redhook puts out each year, first hit the shelves in 2008 and won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival. 2009 brought a silver medal at the GABF, and new 22oz packaging. Brewed in honor of the long standing British tradition of Barleywines, Redhook produced a version with a distinctly American twist as a celebration of brewing. “The brewing process is extremely labor intensive and takes 6 months longer to make than any of our other brews. The outcome is a celebration of the full symphony of malt and hop flavors. It is hand-made to salute the extremes of brewing,” says Doug MacNair, Production Manager for the facility. “Our brewers created it here last year as a way to push their creative limits and the popularity of the results spoke for itself. That success led to the national distribution we have this year.”

Treblehook is vigorously hopped which builds on the traditional massive aromatic malt notes. Its double mashing process helps make the flavors smooth and complex. Because of its limited quantities, Redhook wants to spotlight the Treblehook experience by inviting Seacoast residents and visitors to enjoy this special beer at a celebratory event. Available all day for one day only – December 11th – at Redhook Ale Brewery, 35 Corporate Drive. For more information, please visit the website www.redhook.com.

As the snow began to fall yesterday (in New England), I assumed that it would be a quick dusting and today the grass would still be green. Boy was I wrong. With the couple of hours of rain before the snow, as it got colder and colder the snow started sticking to everything. Today, the snow is still here and looks like it will stick around for a while. Strangely enough, as part of the 25 days of Christmas, the move “White Christmas” was playing during the snowfall.

It’s sure starting to feel like Christmas – whether you are shopping on line or heading to the stores, here are some ideas for your favorite beer lover (we all know someone that’s a beer lover, don’t we!!). In case you missed part 1 and 2, please check out the previous suggestions.

Bear Republic – http://www.bearrepublic.com/ They offer many cool things on their store – including a create your own gift basket, rugs and other cool stuff.

Redhook – ttp://shop.redhook.com/ All sorts of cool stuff, including Neon Lights, Toboggan and other gear.

Alaskan Brewing Company – https://www.alaskanbeer.com/ I enjoy visiting the Alaskan Brewing Store to check out the tap handles (like the Summer Ale Orca Taphandle) along with searching through all of the sale items. They have some pretty neat stuff on sale at the moment.

Here is some cool glassware that your beer lover would enjoy:

“Designed with the help of sensory experts, the pint glass provides optimum full-flavored taste of Sam Adams (or any other brew) thanks to some unique features — a bead inside the rim creates turbulence to release flavor and aromas; a lip on the glass places the beer on the front of the tongue where sweetness is tasted; a laser etching on the bottom creates bubbles for constant aroma release; thinner walls and round shape maintain proper beer temperature longer; and a narrow grip reduces exposure from the heat of your hand.”

“We wanted to create a glass that offers beer lovers a full sensory drinking experience by fully showcasing Samuel Adams Boston Lager’s complex balance of malt and hop flavors. This glass achieves that mission.” -Jim Koch. Set contains 4 glasses (beer not included!).
